You want to manage your career, rather than simply to drift. Careers Partnership (UK) will provide the career counselling and jobs research required to plan for success. It's always easier to work towards your longterm career goals if you have a clear plan to follow, one that you have confidence in.
We offer unhurried, focused, one to one career counselling to help you evaluate the full range of your options and decide your best course of action. We then support you with advice, encouragement and job hunting information sheets while you change career direction.
Your career counselling programme will provide you with deep insight into your personality, abilities and job interests and the implications these have for planning your career development and job goals in today's rapidly changing workplace.
All personality, ability and interests data is interpreted by a skilled, experienced career development consultant (many psychologists feel this personalised approach provides a more accurate picture of the individual asking for career counselling than is possible from computer-generated assessments).
We research (with employers, professional institutions and / or recruitment consultancies working in your sector) the practicality for you as an individual of each career development move we suggest. This research often identifies how you can move on or change career direction without getting new qualifications (if it doesn't, we then research ways of reducing your training costs through study exemptions).
Your detailed career planning report is individually written, covering the topics of special concern to you (eg would self-employment suit you? Should you change your career goals - or just your employer?). Advice on the roles and work environments that best suit you and warnings of any foreseeable pitfalls if you take a particular career direction will all be Included in the career counselling.
Saturday afternoon career counselling appointments are available. |

INTENSIVE CAREER PLANNING PROGRAMME |
| For: |
Adults, living anywhere in the UK, wanting career counselling to "take stock" before changing career direction or making any career or study decisions with longterm effects on their future.
|
| Description: |
You will work one to one during the half-day career counselling meeting with your advisor. This career counselling meeting is an "information gathering" session. Typically you complete a series of personality, ability and interests tests to assist in planning your future career development as well as enjoying an unhurried but focused counselling discussion about your career and life goals.
Your career development advisor then analyses and interprets all this information in a full, written report answering the particular career planning / work issues you raised with her.
This career counselling report will provide:-
- an extremely detailed picture of yourself and of your career-related strengths and weaknesses
- guidance on the roles and work environments that best suit you
- an assessment of the career development options open to you and advice on those which offer the best "fit" with your individual strengths and weaknesses, ambitions and personal circumstances.
Requests for more advice on career planning or direction are generally met through the free career counselling Helpline. The career counselling Helpline is provided by email and telephone and is available outside of normal working hours for those unable to 'phone during the working week.
Further assistance (eg help applying for jobs, CV writing and interview coaching) can be provided as an addition to this career planning programme. |
