Careers Partnership (UK) provides redundancy counselling / advice programmes tailor-made to the particular needs, circumstances and entitlement to outplacement support of each individual. Outplacement services can be "tweaked" as necessary to fit employers' budgets. We also offer a limited amount of free advice to employers and individuals worried about forthcoming redundancy programmes and having to reach decisions on which types of outplacement services would be most useful to them.
Our one to one redundancy counselling programmes provide intensive help in each half-day session, so few sessions are necessary. Some staff members may need only one session of. help and advice (for example, a practice interview with coaching for an actual job vacancy before they attend the real thing). Others prefer our extended programme of coaching on all aspects of jobsearch. It is rare, however, for any individual to require more than four sessions. Ongoing telephone advice can be provided to sustain morale and deal with practical difficulties during career transition.
Our clients are of varying seniority (they include Directors), employed in both the private and public sectors.
While most clients are employed in junior, middle and senior management posts at the time of counselling, they also include:-
- professional workers (eg Chartered Accountants)
- people from the educational service (eg Head Teachers)
- financial services advisors (eg senior Banking personnel)
- charity workers (eg staff from Citizens Advice Bureaux)
Typical UK redundancy counselling programmes include coaching, advice and help with any of the following:-
SELF-MARKETING
- identifying the manager’s most marketable skills, knowledge and experience
- creation of a personal CV specifically designed to market the individual to his or her target employers
- help with writing effective covering letters and completing Application Forms, etc
- coaching in interview skills, etc
FINDING EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
- discovering new sources of advertised jobs
- discovering non-advertised jobs (by effective networking, etc)
ADVICE AND SUPPORT DURING CAREER TRANSITION
- guidance on improving applications for real vacancies (including practice interviews)
